What is Mo-Town Grapplers?
The MoTownGrapplers.com website actually represents “Mo-Town Grapplers Club, Inc”, a non-profit organization designed to provide the youth, in the Morristown area, a chance to learn the sport of wrestling through competition.
Who can participate in the program?
The program is geared for kids from 1st to 8th grades from Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains. There will be three teams, a beginner team and two teams for the older experienced kids.
Where and when are the practices held?
The wresting season usually runs from early November through the end of February. During this time, practice will be held at Frelinghuysen School gymnasium. Our younger Pre-Clinic wrestlers will practice one weekday evening and Saturday morning While our Clinic wrestlers will practice on two weekday evenings plus Saturday mornings. The Clinic team will also have 5-6 competitions (“Jamborees”) throughout the season.
Our more experienced wrestlers on the JV and Varsity teams will practices two or three week nights and Saturday mornings with matches taking place weeknights and Saturdays.
Weeknight practices are usually 6:30 PM to 8:15 PM
Saturday practices are usually 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Who will be coaching my child?
Our staff are accomplished wrestlers at the high school and college level. Mo-Town will also invite guest clinicians to provide additional expertise in a certain area (takedowns, escapes, pinning combinations, etc.).
